Yes. Medicinal cannabis is regulated under the Medicines and Related Substances Act and can be accessed legally with a prescription from a registered doctor, typically through SAHPRA's Section 21 pathway.
Who can prescribe it?
Only a HPCSA-registered doctor can assess you and decide whether cannabis medicine is appropriate. Our Cannabis Clinics SA doctors can consult with you online or in person.
What is Section 21?
Section 21 is SAHPRA's authorisation route for medicines that are not yet registered for general sale. Your doctor applies on your behalf, and our IntroCann platform handles the application automatically.
How do I get my prescription?
Once approved, your prescription is dispensed by a licensed pharmacy and can be delivered to your door, usually next day, or collected from one of 2,200+ pickup points.
